			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The 3rd annual American Indian Expo will be held on November 4th, 5th and 6th, 2010 at Charles Towne Landing State Historical Site.</p>
<p>The expo will consist of educational and cultural approaches towards South Carolina Coastal Native Americans and South Carolina Native Americans in general. The Charles Towne Landing site is one of the most reknowned sites in the Lowcountry focused towards European colonists as well as their Native American counterparts and one of the most reknowned sites by Archealogist Stanley South.</p>
<p>There will be a replica Coastal Native American dwelling and One of the most reknowned Cherokee dancers in the world, Mr. Daniel Tramper. Who will perform the many dances and techniques of the Eastern Band Cherokee Nation, Mr. Tramper is the recent winner of the 19th Annual World Championship Hoop Dance Contest Senior Division. Please join us as we celebrate Native American Month at Charles Towne Landing in beautiful Charleston, South Carolina.</p>

<p>"By Virtue of an Act of Assembly for regulating the Indian Trade and making itt safe to the Publick, a Board of Comisssioners mett for transacting the Buisness of the said Act. Held att Charles Town the 20th September 1710.</p>
<p>Present: Ralph Izard, Esq., President, Col. James Risbey, richd. Berresford, Esq., Mr. John Raven, and Mr. James Ingerson. Col. Wm. Rhett was chosen and sworn a Commissioner as the Act directs. Adjurned till 2 a'Clock in the Afternoone.</p>
<p>Mett according to Adjurnment.</p>
<p>Present: Ralph Izard, Esq., President, Col. James Risbee, Col. Wm. Rhett, richd. Berrisford, Esq., and Mr. John Raven.</p>
<p>The Commissioners chose Mr. James Ingerson Cecretary for transacting the Buissiness of the Indian Trade in the Room of Mr. Wm. Smith, deceassed.</p>
<p>Mr. John Guerard was chosen and sworn a Comissioner. Ordered that Mr. John Wright, Agent, doe send for the Appalachia from his House to attend this Board tommorow Noone.</p>
<p>Adjurned till tommorow Morning nine a'Clock."</p>

<p>This fall, the Morgan Allen Platt Foundation in partnership with the College of Charleston, Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston School of Law, The Citadel, Trident Technical College and the Charles Towne Landing State Historical Site to bring awareness to K-12 students and the Charleston community regarding the lives of the American Indian communities native to South Carolina. This exciting event will be held on November 4th-6th, 2010 at Charles Towne Landing State Historical Site.</p>

<p>The Expo will focus on the contributions of American Indians native South Carolina with a historical timeline of the first contact with settlers to present day involvement.</p>
<p>Educational exhibits and interaction will be for students only on the 4<sup>th</sup> and 5<sup>th</sup>.</p>
